Cecil Field Golf Club
About
Fiddler's Green at Cecil Field Golf Club is located at the Cecil Commerce Center, formerly the Cecil Field Naval Air Station. The golf course was built in 1975 and has been managed by Capstone Golf since 2005.
Fiddler's Green is a regulation 18-hole course in a beautiful tree-lined setting with no development on its borders. The course offers a stern challenge, measuring 6,643 yards from the championship tees. The course rating is 71, and it has a slope rating of 125.
Towering pines shape the course as it weaves its way around the serene natural setting. Fiddler's Green's generous fairways leave challenging approach shots to some of the smallest putting greens in the area.

taken over by frisbee players
had to skip 2nd hole. at least 12 frisbee players joking around in middle of fairway. 8 carts and at least 12 (that we could count) yuking it up and throwing at each other with no effort to move on

you get what you pay for
nothing fancy, poor tee boxes and greens are like carpets. If you are looking to just go hit balls this is fine, but dont expect tour quality anything. Carts are old and no ball washing or water bottle filler/fountains on the course.
Also no need to use golf now, they have the same rate at the course so i paid a reservation fee for no reason.
Cecil Field Golf
This was the worst golf course I’ve played this year & I’ve played a lot of courses! Fairways had little grass & the greens were horrible! Weeds were growing on the greens & the greens appeared to nut being cut for days! Pace was good because no one was playing golf! Should not be on Golfnow!
A bit more TLC.
For the cost it's a good place to come play. The Tee Box needs to be mowed a little lower, and the greens a little more care.
Nice course lay out. Small slow greens and not much grass on the fairways. A good practice course for the money. You can get in 18 holes in under 3 hours.
Fiddlers Green - Cecil Feild
This Jacksonville owned course is suffering from a lack of funding and attention. The staff is friendly but not supported at all by the city. It works as a practice facility but greens are completely unplayable between the ant hills and mole holes.

I’m a budget golfer so I really don’t expect much but this course is terrible. Fairways are covered in almost knee high weeds, greens are covered in sand and small dirt hills, and our cart was missing a chunk of the seat and had no breaks (#21). Front desk was very friendly and the course layout is pretty nice, just seems like the maintenance team/field crew hasn’t been there in months. Pay the extra few dollars to go play somewhere else - you’ll make your money back in the golf balls you don’t loose in the tall grass.
Its a hot mess but good value. Would rather play disc golf here.
Coming back to play the disc golf course along the course.
Worst experience in 25 years of golf
They didn’t have enough functioning carts to provide players, so they started a written wait list, at least a dozen groups long, for functional carts coming in to the clubhouse would be assigned a waiting player. It was obvious that there wasn’t enough daylight for everyone on the list to be able to get a cart and play. But the clubhouse refused any refund. They passed the buck to GolfNow. Told me I needed to get my mom back from them. And they were less than tactful about the subject. I’ve played here before. It is primarily a disc golf course. It feels like they could care less about a actual golf experience. The greens are locally known to be worse than poor. Most ppl I know who play here, give each other a two putt max, because the green are so terrible. I only returned to play a second round because a close friend, who is learning to play golf, wanted to play. I would say this course is acceptable if your local driving range is closed, otherwise there is no reason to spend money here. The staff is as miserable as the greens. Truly miser unpleasant ppl. And as soon as you walk into the clubhouse you’ll be able to see and smell why they’re so defeated. Also must say how useless GlofNow has been regarding a refund. You can only email them w your concerns, and they’ve shown no intention or interest in replying to, much less remedying the issue. Probably best just to use GolfNow as a app to confirm open tee times, then schedule thru the golf shop.
No Carts-No Refund
Showed up for my tee time and was told they didn’t have any carts available. They gave me the option of putting my name on a wait list for a cart, but the list was a dozen names long. They told me to get a refund through GolfNow. I’ve reached out to GolfNow thru phone and email and have received no response. Probably the last time I use GolfNow. Definitely the last time I play Cecil.
