About
Located in Florida’s oldest city, Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club offers a glimpse of the area’s lush foliage and native marshlands. The course has a visually interesting layout with elevated, sprawling greens and a variety of bunker shapes and sizes. The moguled fairways and sandy waste areas are two other distinguishing features of the course. It is a tight course with large greens and gentle undulations. The layout provides a “target-golf” experience that puts a premium on accuracy and distance control. The numerous bends in the course in combination with the blustery winds also makes proper club selection very important.

Sad to see
Played royal a few years ago. Today was first time since then. Fairways are in horrible shape, tons of weeds. Greens aren’t much better. I will say, the layout is challenging and fun. Hope they turn it around for the summer months.
Greens need work…..
Some greens were good and some really bad. It is earlier in the year so I will cut them some slack… definitely going back maybe mid summer to check it out again. The course was difficult. Lots of water. I overall liked the course, this place will definitely make you think about your shot selection.
Good fun.
Will play again. Course is in good condition and the staff are awesome!
My daughter and I
I played with my daughter and had a great time. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Course is nice, good value for the price. Will be back. Thanks to Mike for arranging just the two of us to play on a busy day!

Tee boxes and greens were in horrible condition. The greens, all 18 of them, are burned out.
Fast Dry Greens
The course was ok except the greens did not hold the ball and they were very fast when putting.
Ranger incompetent and rude. Greens bad.
Course overbooked. Ranger not cooperative Green conditions were horrible. No grass.
Improved
New ground keeper is doing great. Fairways much improved as well as the greens. I hope they continue to improve.
Great layout, not in good condition
Played today and choose
this course because resent reviews had been positive on conditions. The greens are in terrible condition. The layout of course is great. Friendly staff. If you’re only looking for a bargain then play. If you want good conditions look elsewhere.
Interesting Neighborhood Course
Cool sunny morning to play but enjoyed the nice staff. Fairways and greens exhibit wear and tear of winter play. Straight forward layout to follow, but you need to pay attention to the path directions.
