pro not happy
pro at blue cypress not happy when we sign up for single play as offered...says they dont make any money;...see now that they are no longer on the courses available for play....price was right for me since i am an old retired guy.
Only go if its a Hot Deal
Greens are in good shape but fairways have more weeds than grass. May biggest issue was the poor cart condition and they have foot golf on the course. When I arrived the cart was covered in dirty water, that I had to clean, then after the turn I found a group of kids kicking soccer balls on the course only to find out they were allowed to do so!
Great alternative to the congestion at the beaches
I always enjoy playing this course. This is the only place I would bring my wife to teach her. The patrons are on par.
looking good
Eveeytime I go back course looks better. Greens are look great. Keep up the good work maintenance crew
Nice course, great value
Although the greens were slow (apparently not mowed) and some were damaged, the course was in generally good shape. A nice 9-hole course with alternate tees, it was a lot of fun to play. Great value.
great practice course
I've probably played this course a hundred times, great value. Just don't expect sawgrass and you'll have a good time.
Great value.
The price to play was extremely low. The course is challenging with trouble on several holes. The fairways were OK. Lots of weeds but not very many bare spots. The greens were not in very good condition. They are working on them but have a ways to go before they could be considered in good shape.
Some fairways are pretty narrow.
They are working on the greens but right now they are a little rough.
Can't beat the price but...
I got a great hot deal, mid-week, only $7. Layout is good with a few tight holes. Downside is the greens. They have several greens that have ground under repair. But for the price, I would certainly go back.
Great to walk
If you like to walk when playing golf and if you enjoy friendly faces then definitely check out Blue Cypress in Arlington. No, it's not an uptown course and the layout is a bit clunky but it's an excellent way to spend a couple of hours walking under big shade trees while playing golf. The operators are nice people and the neighborhood is doing everything they can to help keep this nice little community course open. We need more courses like this, particularly for kids just learning to play the game.
Good Value, Friendly Staff and Guests.
Blue Cypress has been a staple for me. It never disappoints. It's in better condition than some major golf courses in the area for half the expense.
Great Value. Great course for beginners. great staff
I play at Blue Cypress a lot. The price is right.
Plus I got a Hole in One on #2. Awesome.
Bad customer serivce and bad course maintenece.
I want to make this clear. I used to play here every sunday for 10 bucks through golf now. This course at best is worth 10 bucks a round. No fairways and every green has dirt on it. Yesterday I went with 3 buddies and we spent plenty of money in their clubhouse aka the trailer. Because thats what it is. So as we were leaving. A young man who maybe 14 yrs old, who works for the course, assumed that my friend "smashed a green" with no such evidence to support it. He was going off what people behind us said. So I got extrmely mad how this kid approached me and my friends and I will never go back. Bar none the worst maintained course in jacksonville and the most unproffesional little kid working for their course. I would never recommend it unless you wanna throw away money. You can play at a course twice as nice for a few more dollars. I used to be a customer but now I will never go back.
Great course for beginners...
The course is very forgiving...no sand traps, very little water...but nice..
Maintainance day
They were aerating the greens and only 5 holes were open. Played them 3 times-used different tees each time and had fun. For $7 on Golf now still a good bargain!
Great staff and they try to accommodate everyone.
terrible course conditions
great staff a friendly people unless your pay 8 dollars for 18 i would not recommend playing here the greens are more like sand traps rather than actual greens and the fairways aren't even fairways they are just patches of weeds if you can find some grass to hit off of you'll have a good day.
Cheap price cheap conditions good practice course
The price is good for the conditions that you play through which include greens that are not fully covered with grass. Fairways that have patches of weeds, crabgrass, or pine cones to divert your ball. And lastly amateur golfers (ie kids) severely slowing the rate of play due to not having a starter.
this course is ok for a quick round,or some practice.
my wife and I played on friday with the hot deal rate of 10.00.The greens had bare spots but the pin placements were in good areas of the greens , The fairways were ok at best. We played in 3 1/2 hours, and had a good time. The club house was well stocked and the staff was friendly. I would play here over the course down the street, mill cove.
Great for what you pay for
You have to expect hard-pan and tree roots if you miss the fairways on a course like this, but keep it on the grass and you'll have fun. The worst part of the experience is the 20 year old range balls. The fairways are hard and fast, and the greens weren't rolling too bad either. For the $11 that I paid to play, I'll be going back soon!
Great for getting back in the swing of things
This is the first course my wife ever played. No one was rude and we had a great time. I would recommend this course for a leisurely day out without stress. Lots of great specials and tournaments. TPC Sawgrass, No.......Having fun drinking some tall beers, yes.
