Cecil Field Golf Club
About
Fiddler's Green at Cecil Field Golf Club is located at the Cecil Commerce Center, formerly the Cecil Field Naval Air Station. The golf course was built in 1975 and has been managed by Capstone Golf since 2005.
Fiddler's Green is a regulation 18-hole course in a beautiful tree-lined setting with no development on its borders. The course offers a stern challenge, measuring 6,643 yards from the championship tees. The course rating is 71, and it has a slope rating of 125.
Towering pines shape the course as it weaves its way around the serene natural setting. Fiddler's Green's generous fairways leave challenging approach shots to some of the smallest putting greens in the area.

Such a shame.
Reserved a Tee time for 930 but all of the carts were given away and we had to wait until 11 to play, the Fairway looks like a cattle field and the Greens are not maintained. This golf course cater more to frisbee golfing than actual golf. Very disappointed. And some of the golf carts do not have any brakes.
The management was as rough as the greens
The one highlight of the day was the lady working the pro shop. Friendly and cordial. That was the highlight. 1st hole manager/ owner drove out to us, I had sliced the ball which was lying in-between out of bounds and the abandoned driving range and proceeded to be rude and make some snarky comment about us trying to steal his range balls. I was just looking for my ball. Great first impression. Other worker, came out and rudely proclaimed that cart needed to be back by 1900. No excuse me, thank you, just rudely stated. Now to the course condition, greens were rough/ crab grass and dirt(imagine putting on gravel). Fairways were uncut, the few cut, piles of clippings lying about. Worst course I have ever played on. Not worth the decent pricing.
Unmown conditions
The course was not mowed, and I saw lots of weeds and various types of grass with very little Bermuda. I did not realize the course was not being maintained.
No Greens or tee boxes
Same layout, no greens or tee boxes, I actually like playing out of the sand based fairways. Mostly a frisbee golf course now. Technically probably still a golf course but marginally.
The course is in terrible condition and people were playing frisbee golf while we were trying to play
Not Worth
I was able to take my time and practice due to the lack of golfers. That is the only redeeming quality about this place.
No one seems to take care of the course and they planted a Disc Golf course across every fairway. There were multiple occasions where someone had their cart die and they were forced to abandon it on the course. (Mine did not have a problem). Will not be returning.
No golf for you pedro
This place is now catering to frisbee golfers not real golfers. Used to be you had to share the golf course with the frisbeeites roaming randomly across the fairways but the LAST time I went there the golf course was completely closed to golfers for the whole day due to a frisbee tournament. Screw that.
Leaves more to be desired
Cecil field is nice because it’s very laid back, but the course itself is just awful. You will pay a similar price here as you would a much nicer golf course. The staff is nice, but the course needs a lot of work.
Quality of course
Overall not bad the greens have improved, pace of play was great OK place to play, will be back.
This course needs help
The management for this golf course should check on it from year to year the owners should sell to a developer and be done with it the condition its in should not deceive loyal golf now customers with this low of a quality of golf we only played 9 could not stomach the rest of the round.
No sure in good conscience how they could take money to play
Never been on a course in worst condition tee to green. We payed for 18, had to wait 30 minutes for a cart to be turned in to start. The greens are non playable and would ruin your touch if your tried, so we hit tee to green and picked up. The cart went dead on 10 so we chalked it up to one of those funny stories for the future and called it a day.
Not golf.
I may not know a lot about golf but I know enough to say this ain’t it.
Call the course to book
Apparently the course only accepts golf now reservations if you book 11:00 or 11:30 so you have to call the course to reserve a tee time. The worker was friendly about it and they weren’t that busy so we got to play with no issue. The course is pretty terrible. It’s mostly weeds or dirt everywhere. It’s a great place if you want to go have fun with your buddies with nobody in front of or behind you. If you want nice grass anywhere then I would go elsewhere.
Very disappointed
I lost more ball in the fairway then I lost in the past six months.
Garbage
They do not communicate with golf now .. no rate that I paid for was honored
Underwhelming, but good for practice.
Overall, the course was below average, if not poor conditions. The greens were not well-maintained and very hard to find your ball, even if you shot well into the green. There are weeds everywhere, and many divots. The markers indicating where you are to start from are very poorly identified and often times unrecognizable, due to the rotted condition. The facility overall is showing its age and is not up to date with current times. I recommend this to amateur golfers who are looking to practice with out the pressure of professional crowds
Worst Course in Jacksonville, Florida..Period!!!!
I loved this course when it was owned by the Navy, but now I will never play there again....PERIOD!!! Stafff....Sucks!!! Course conditions....Suck!!! Price....DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Management caters to Disc golfers. I am so disappointed and angry on how this course is dying!!! You have been warned!!!
