Located in Callahan, Deerfield Lakes Golf Course is less than 10 miles from the Jacksonville International Airport. Its convenient location also makes it accessible from all of Jacksonville, as well as Amelia Island, and South Georgia. The 18-hole layout is player-friendly, providing a good round for all players despite handicap or skill level.
Deerfield Lakes Golf Course's well-manicured greens are medium in size and the lush, inviting fairways are average width. Although it is a forgiving golf course, water hazards come into play on sixteen holes to add some difficulty. There are also bunkers strategically placed throughout to keep golfers from taking the course too casually.

Good value - nice rural course
Course was VERY wet, but otherwise in decent shape and a great value.
Nice course and price
The course is well worth the value. Nice and easy designed course. Would recommend it! Friendly staff.
iT WAS CLOSE TO MY HOUSE, SO THE BANG FOR THE BUCK WAS GREAT. Pace of play was excellent. I played by myself and did 18 holes in less that 2 1/5 hours. Will definitely play again.
Very bad golf day
I have been playing golf for almost two and a half years and this was the worst day of golf I ever experienced. If I could rate this course lower than a one star I would rate it (-5). First the practice range was close, Cut grass was left in the middle of the (brown) fairway, so even if you hit the fairway your ball may still be lost in the dead grass. The greens were punched and sanded and in very bad shape. This golf course should taken off of Golfnow to save the reputation of this golf sight.
Rough.
This course is in bad shape. Greens are destroyed. Pace of play is fine unless you get caught behind 2 five-somes. If you are on vacation or just visiting their are plenty of quality courses near by.
Not bad for the price
Its a old course but workers are trying to improve the greens and only 2 greens had bare spots and were to hard.
Bad Golf
Would not play this course again, fairways were horrible so many different grasses and weeds this may as well have been a cow pasture
Greatly improved.
The staff has done a great job in getting the greens back playable. We have an enjoyable day with no delay on the course.
This course is average like my game
This course is only average but is a good value. We played on a day when there had been little rain the previous days and the course was dry. It was the day after a holiday and we (twosome) played at our pace, finishing in three hours. Overall we enjoyed the round, the staff was friendly, and will play there again.
Fun open course
Bought a 14$ tee time on golfnow not knowing what to expect and showed up to a friendly staff with an uncrowned course. Finished 18 in under 3 hours playing with me and my dad. The course is wide open and in decent shape the fairways are average but the greens are small and really well Maintained. A great course
Aerated greens
They had just aerated the greens and added a lot of sand. The course has come a long way in the last year. I'm glad they are finally putting effort into it. Still needs work, but it will come in time. Great course for the price.
Facility deteriorating
Course has improved since my last visit a while back, but I was only able to play 3 holes after wrenching my back stepping off a curb I did not see. With the number of senior golfers utilizing this facility, a little yellow paint on the curbs may prevent such injuries. Course has improved since my last visit a while back, but I was only able to play 3 holes after wrenching my back stepping off a curb I did not see. With the number of senior golfers utilizing this facility, a little yellow paint on the curbs may prevent such injuries. When I mentioned this to the staff, my comments were completely ignored. I didn’t even get a “sorry about that”.
This course has some long holes
Course was good condition just a little wet. Would not want to walk this course.
This course is a good challenging course.
This course offers a combination of long holes and short holes. The short holes are surrounded with trouble. ( water and sand traps)
Golf round I would like to forget
We arrived 45 minutes early and the club house was still locked. We had a 11:30 tee time. Customer service said he was not going to honor our prepayment to golfnow . We had to pay an additional 30 dollars. The conditions were miserable so I guess that was good reason not mow thr greens.
Good price - awful greens and bunkers
Sadly to say the greens and bunkers were awful. The fairways would need an overseeding. All in all at the moment not worth to pay more money
You get what you pay for
Deerfield has the potential to be a great course. They really need to put some money in the overall upkeep; fairways and especially the greens. Greens are in terrible condition,so you basically have call it a 2 putt and pick your ball up. Layout is very open and not too challenging. I only paid $10 for 18 holes with a cart. As I said before you get what you pay for!
Great Course for the money
J have played it before ans the experience have been very good but this time they are fixing the greens and they are in bad shape. Course in general is in exelent condition but not the greens.
the greens
The greens defiantly need some work. Seemed as if I was in the sand bunker with all the sand on the green. Better hit your ball hard.
