About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business.
Located in Callahan, Deerfield Lakes Golf Course is less than 10 miles from the Jacksonville International Airport. Its convenient location also makes it accessible from all of Jacksonville, as well as Amelia Island, and South Georgia. The 18-hole layout is player-friendly, providing a good round for all players despite handicap or skill level.
Deerfield Lakes Golf Course's well-manicured greens are medium in size and the lush, inviting fairways are average width. Although it is a forgiving golf course, water hazards come into play on sixteen holes to add some difficulty. There are also bunkers strategically placed throughout to keep golfers from taking the course too casually.

Fun Course
Greens are coming back nice an course is in very good Shape. Fun Course and good to work on your Game.
We Love Playing This Course. We Play Here AtLeast Once A Week
Deerfield Lakes is a great course to play. The conditions and scenery are beautiful. The staff is very knowledgable about course conditions and are super friendly. The concessions are excellent with a large selection of food and beverages to choose from.
I would definitely recommend Deerfield Lakes as a regular course to play.
Course Is great with a friendly, family environment!
Love golfing at Deerfield Lakes. The staff is very friendly and the course is very well maintained. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in great condition. I have nothing but good things to say about this course. Very forgiving course if you're not having such a great day. Anyone that plays this course will love it. It is definitely worth the 45 minute drive I take.

Great "Hot Deal" daily
Definitely worth driving to Callahan to take advantage of a Hot Deal through golfnow. Water comes into play quite often but fairways and thin roughs are generously wide for intermediate hackers like me.
Price is right.
I think some weekend golfers need low price courses. They can play more often. I've seen four courses close in Jacksonville since taking up the sport.
Greens are a real challenge.
Greens are a real challenge to put on. Fair ways need work.
Great value!
Excellent course for novice players. A little soggy in places but overall in good condition.
Great course for the price!
This course is in fairly good condition. Great course for beginners and novice folders looking for an easier layout. Greens are in good shape and putt at a medium speed/roll.
great value
Course is in good shape great staff and you cant beat the price
Course is pretty wide but with a lot of water, hence the name
Course was very wet from a Sunday rain and doesn't seem to drain very we'll. When course is dry it plays with a moderate challenge Greens are in pretty good shape with a couple of exemptions
A friendly and enjoyable course.
Considering the amount of rain over the past several days, I would say maintenance has done and outstanding job on the course. Very few "wet" spots, but very playable. I have played this course a few times in the past and always enjoyed it. The staff is friendly, the course well maintained and it's a bargain.
Mudhole
EXTREMELY muddy, standing water and piles of cut grass everywhere. Greens were nice, tee boxes were not. Fairways may have been decent if they weren't lakes.
Pro shop staff had the personality of a stump when he told me I needed a golfnow printout for my tee time...and they dont take AMEX.
Won't be making the hike from Jax again anytime soon...
Great place to play
Went there on Tuesday late morning was done in two in half hours.
Course is maintained, greens are in good condition. Its nice to see that they work on the greens, replacing patches regularly. Some other courses should take management/maintenance classes from these people.
My only concern is that they get a computer, I need to print my tee time sheet, the pro shop has no way of confirming my time through Golf Now...
Nice challenge with water barriers and long play
Staff was great. I got lost finding it then lost a club which was delivered to me on the course.
Tournament??????
Either the course did not tell GolfNow they had a tournament scheduled for the morning or GolfNow didn't tell me. Had an 11:22 Tee Time and didn't get started until after 12 noon. Fairways were decent enough but the greens for the most part were terrible with bare spots or uneven sodding. No course map on the scorecard or hole maps on the tee boxes so if you hadn't played the course before you were playing blind. Will not return.
The Greens are elevated which makes it more challenging on the approach shot.
Would love to play course again. Great course to play with your friends. Not super crowded. Water holes made it challenging.
Course was in good shape.
this course is usually in good condition.
I play this course often and enjoy it. The course is user/hacker friendly. The greens keeper is good and the greens are usually in good condition. the club house is simple and stocked with something you will like. Its a good time .
This course is incredible for the price!
I live in the south side area and the courses close by (mill cove, Jax beach, and Selva) look pretty crazy for the price considering I could drive 30 mins and pay half the price for triple the course!!! Deerfield lakes is a diamond in the rough!
Try again in another year
Ho hum layout but pretty setting. Course was obviously in a state of repair and may improve over the next year or so to make it a good place to play in the future. For now recommend skipping thiis one.
Local knowledge
There's a few tight landing areas, but a large majority of the holes are wide open. Meaning you can land an aircraft on the fairway, especially the confidence inspiring first tee shot. Great value and gets easier the more you play it.
