About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business.
Located in Callahan, Deerfield Lakes Golf Course is less than 10 miles from the Jacksonville International Airport. Its convenient location also makes it accessible from all of Jacksonville, as well as Amelia Island, and South Georgia. The 18-hole layout is player-friendly, providing a good round for all players despite handicap or skill level.
Deerfield Lakes Golf Course's well-manicured greens are medium in size and the lush, inviting fairways are average width. Although it is a forgiving golf course, water hazards come into play on sixteen holes to add some difficulty. There are also bunkers strategically placed throughout to keep golfers from taking the course too casually.

Bad course
This course needs a lot of work. It's like playing in a swamp! The fairways are muddy and full of holes and I mean HUGE pot holes! The old in the pro shop was was rude and it smelled like urine. I will NEVER EVER play this course again!!! It was a waste of my time and money.
best shape ive seen this course in
Greens were in great shape and the fairways were average. The only thing missing from this course is a starter!!!! Its kinda first come first serve.
the greens are really good
i'll tell you what i was really impressed with the great condition
the course is in...this is probably the best bang for the buck
that i have found with golfnow so far....you can score well at this
track and yet get baited into trying to get a little to greedy on some shots...this is a course you can grip it and rip it and have some fun:)
The course is fun to play. Pace is great. and a great deal
I had a great time. The Tee boxes where well marked and the fairways where in good shape concidering almost everything is going dorment. The only negitive I would say is the greens. they are very slow and speed is inconsistant from one green to another. that said its not enough to make me stay away. I will be back because it getting better as time goes on
course not very challenging but gives gteat value for money.
the course is pretty friendly to average or high handicap players.
only few difficult holes. greens are inconsistent speed but overall in fairly good condition.
fairways are in good condition mostly. due to the flatness of the course it retains water easily.
generaly great value for money.
Wide open, a few challenging holes.
The course is good for a quick outing, or to practice hitting shots. There are a few holes that require attention to detail, but for the most part, you can grip it and rip it.
Great value for a good price. A great find for a country course.
Tee times not reguired. A country course in good shape at a good price. Holds rain water and can be very wet after rains. It's a 40 mile ride from where I live but worth the trip to play. The course gets alot of play and you will enjoy the experience.
open layout greens are generally in good shape
for the price the course is a good deal, it gets alot of play, sometimes the pace is medium slow, but overall it a good go to if you are looking for a low cost round. The clubhouse has good sandwiches and reasonable priced beverages.
This is one of the best courses for the value in Jacksonville.
The course was wet from the heavy rains we had. Other than the water, the course is a great value and worth the trip to Callahan.
A nice option north of Jax.
It's a nice little course. It's a bit low and when they get heavy rains it stays wet. My gripe is they don't have a starter on weekends. The pace of play can get really slow. While playing we caught a group of 8 players, playing together. That is a big no no. There was also no ranger roaming the course to keep up pace of play. That being said i would play there again.
good course for the money
the clubhouse staff is great. but the landscapers do not shut off the lawn mowers when hitting guys on the green. besides that it is a fun easy course great for money
I liked the whole course!
Used to play a lot when I was younger, course was in great shape staff was super friendly. One of the best values in jax! I've paid more for a lot less.
Great greens!!!!!!!!!!
Greens are in great shape and moderately quick, fairways could use a little work. but a nice course for the money
course should have been closed!
The course had standing water in it everywhere. On every fairway even on some of the T boxes there would be multiple puddles of water everywhere. I would strongly suggest calling ahead to see what the course condition is before playing because it made for a miserable day.
