Enjoyable overall experience
Friendly staff played off the white tee Boxes which were a bit worn and at times had some slope.
Overall enjoyable experience
Course layout is reasonably friendly
Yesterday pace was excellent done in 3 hours 45 minutes, at times it is pretty slow more than 4 hours. It all depends with players on the course.
Real gem and well maintained.
Julington Creek was in pretty good overall shape from tee box to green although the back nine greens were in better shape and faster since the front did not appear to be mowed and had some grassless patches but nothing major. The grass on the fairways was kept higher than most courses which was ok since it made for perfectly set up lies - good for mid-high handicappers.
The course layout is very good and has a nice blend of short and moderately long par fours from the whites and the par threes can all be reached with an iron. There's a strange 440 yd par five requiring a layup off the tee and a forced carry approach. There's a couple of other forced carries over marshes and a mix of woods or water lined fairways which is always fun. Some greenside sand traps are severe and all had adequate sand.
Very much a thinking golfers course and seems to consistently well maintained.
Go Now
Great condition with excellent staff. Nice layout and must play if on the area: go now
Challenging, but worth a try
Great but somehow challenging course, particularly when played for the first time. It is definitely worth a second try, even if the staff did not have much more than a friendly "hello" for us.: no help with the carts or bags, no instructions at the start.
What a course!!!!
Course was great.Staff was fantastic.Really enjoyed ourselves. They even let us go out as a twosome when they were busy. They had a great deal after 2:00 you could play all you want.We were able to play another 18 holes and could of played at least 4 more holes. The price was ,well... go there and play and find out you will be suprised.I mean what I say about this course. Also don't take this course for granted it's challenging.
yeh,i play golf
nice layout. greens were inconsistent
Amazing Greens
As a winter visitor I was amazed at the quality of the greens especially for this time of year. I also met some very professional and friendly staff members. Steve who greeted me was more than helpful and the Starter "Nap" gave me more than expected information about the course and the area. I will come back and play this course because of the quality of the greens and the exceptional staff. This is a must play course if you are in the Jacksonville area. Thanks you made me feel welcomed and appreciated for coming to this course.
Its Golf
This course was pretty decent. Not that tight, with decent greens. Replay value of $20 was very fair. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Pace of play was very slow. No ranger on the course.
Julington Creek
Played this course many many times. It's close and it always a fun track.
Very slow round
We booked at 10:20 tee time in a Friday. We were paired up with another 2 some. The round took 5 hours and 15 minutes. We had to wait on every hole and every shot. Some tee boxes need attention badly. Very uneven and not a lot of grass on some. Greens were nice but very fuzzy and slow (perhaps they have been over seeded )
Nice Course
This is a nice course, overall well maintained with tees, fairways, and greens in good shape. The bunkers were poor, due primarily to heavy rains two days prior. The pace of play was very good in that we had minimal waits and were not pushed by the group following. We were paired with another twosome and we all enjoyed playing together.
Enjoyed Our Round
Played here on a Saturday afternoon. Pace of play was good. Did have to wait on some holes. But, overall not bad for a Saturday (4-1/2 hours). Proshop staff okay. Cart staff paid no attention to us even though not husy whenvwe arrived. Why have a bag drop? Rough was a little long in places resulting in too much hunting where you shouldn't have to.
Rain has hurt greens.
Played on a Wednesday. Pace of play was only average for war midweek round. Fairways on the majority of holes were sketchy at this time and greens have been dramatically altered due to the excessive rain.
great day for golf
had not played course in 10 years still a great layout well kept and friendly. only downside was no beverage cart on course.
Above The Others
Where some courses have let things get outrageously overgrown, waterlogged, and generally poor condition-wise, CCJC has done a job from tee to green. In fact, the fairways might be in as good a shape as they've ever been. Keep up the good work!
not what we expected
the course was ok at best... the first cut off fairways was about 4 inches and muddy.. i expected the rain, but seem like like hadn't been mowed as expected, fairways were ok for the most part. greens were slow, really slow.. 18 holes . in no hurry to go back.. we had tee time set up, was told its really tight, we sat watching 1st tee and nobody teeing off for at least 30 mins, finally starter says if u want to go u can. was glad i got a deal on golf now... ill recommend because it may be better another day
My round at Champions Club
The course has a nice layout and no two holes are the same. I feel that the course and slope rating is a little too low for this course. A little tighter a tougher than the ratings would lead you to believe. Worth a trip there to play this course.
Very nice course
As a beginner the course was fairly challenging. The greens were in very good condition. The scenery is very nice. Downfall I was no cart girl
