Eagle Landing Golf Club
About
The 7,037 yard Clyde Johnston design at Eagle Landing weaves through the Florida landscape and takes on a vintage feel as he incorporates several of the classic design holes from around the world into the par-72 layout.
"My goal, says Johnston is to intersperse classic holes such as the Redan Hole, the Eden, and the Cardinal into the routing in order to lend a sense of purity to the golf experience at Eagle Landing. Those individual designs are so technically and aesthetically complete that they can truly elevate a golfing experience."
Johnston's philosophy in designing a Club course remains the same as his other courses; begin each nine relatively easy and progressively get harder. The Eagle Landing course offers six sets of tees, from championship to youth tees, allowing the course to play as easy or as difficult as desired. Johnston's previous designs in northeast Florida include Eagle Harbor Golf Club, St. Johns Golf & Country Club, and Jacksonville Golf & Country Club.
Eagle Landing also offers a magnificent golf clubhouse with sports bar, fully-stocked pro shop, his and her locker rooms, and an elegant restaurant overlooking sparkling water and lush fairways. The staff of PGA professionals will coordinate a host of exciting tournaments and events on the course and in the clubhouse.

Fun day at Eagle Landing
Condition of the course was good. It is transitioning so you have some grass and some dormant. The greens were very good and rolled true. IMO the price was a little high, $111.00 for 2 of us and that did NOT include any range balls, food or drink. Pace of play was good. Fella behind the counter never spoke or even offered a "have a good round", nothing. Starter was equally rude, "got a receipt? Start on 10". Girl in the beverage cart was very nice. They had plenty of golfers there so I suppose a friendly demeanor and a good price are not necessary. Suppose I will continue to spend my money elsewhere
Nice Course, level fairways, great bar/restaurant.
I don't play much in Florida, this is probably my 3rd round in the state. Course was mostly level, not a lot of hills and mounds. Greens were really nice, rolled well, but not much break. Most putts you hit straight at the hole. Really nice bar in the clubhouse. Best of all I left my rangefinder behind, called the next day and they have it waiting for me. I always appreciate honest people. I read some reviews about the pace of play. We were a foursome with one in front and one behind us. We finished in just under 4.5 hours on a Saturday. Not sure I could have asked for more than that.
Play here!
There is NOT a better public accessible course in NE Florida. If you’re not playing here, I’m sorry! Best conditions, best staff, best bar atmosphere!
This IS the place!
Cut dem greens
90+ dollars and the greens haven’t been cut in months
No range balls before an am tee time
Rough
Great shape tee to green
Greens were pure and quick, course is in phenomenal condition.
Good Value for Money
Course conditions were good, staff was very friendly, the starters exceptionally so.
Heaven forbid you let somebody play through
Had the tee time at 11:40 and we got there at 11. Hit a small bucket of balls between the 4 of us and roll up to check in with starter at 11:25. Starter says we are going at 11:30 instead and we oblige. We get to the green on 1 and some elderly gentlemen were playing from the greens tees quickly after us and hitting up on us. We let them play through on 3 just so we aren’t rushed and the Marshall was there on hole 3 patching divots on the tee box. We explain the situation and he says it’s fine. Little did we know his boss and his friends were playing behind the group that we let play through. The boss continues to call the front to complain about us when we are right behind the elderly group. Marshall circles back and says he is getting stick from the boss who is now playing behind us and didn’t allow us the customary 5 minutes at the turn. Boss continues to call in and if you are an ambassador for golf at your course and whining about one group playing through you need to grow up. I brought out of state family here to experience my city of Jacksonville and enjoy a round of golf at a great course and instead I got a manager whining about us when we gave the club over 500$ on the day between the round for 4 people, $344 (with one rental and drinks for the round) and we are right behind the elderly group that we let play through. Take a breath and let go of your ego
Best course in town
I have played Eagle Landing many many times. Always looks good. Always well kept. Always a pleasure. Green smooth and true. Fairways great. Tee boxes great. Bunkers well kept. Eagle stays ahead of issues before they get out of control. Doing a little re-sodding and the fringes of 18 ect.
Great Course in Jacksonville Area
Me and my friend played here for the first time and absolutely loved it, it was a fantastic course for the price. The greens rolled true, and were a good speed, and the course pace of play was pretty good, as we only waited on a few holes. Overall, if you’re looking for golf in the Jacksonville area, I definitely recommend this course, as there are many great holes, and a lot of birdie and par opportunities.
Thumbs Up All Around
The course was a treat to play and well worth the 40 mile journey from the other side of town. Everything from the tee boxes to the fairways to the sand traps to the greens were in excellent shape. The greens held nicely and rolled fast and true. The pace of play was great (under 4 hr round), lots of water jugs on the course, beverage cart made multiple cycles, and the staff was great.
This is not an overly difficult course, but it definitely provides some great challenges and is very "playable". Fairways are plenty wide where you don't need to be laser straight and can uncork your driver although there are some spots where a 3 or 5 wood might be the better "golf shot" that minimizes risk. There are also ample tee boxes to align with varying skill levels.
Play a round here and you won't be disappointed and will quickly be planning your next tee time at Eagle Landing.
